Care Package for Madeleine

Last week I put a Care Package in the mail to Madeleine. I've heard good reports about the Social Welfare Institute (SWI) where she is living - that the babies receive good care there, are generally healthy, and if a care package is sent, the child usually does get it and often has the contents with her on "Gotcha Day" (adoption term for the day you finally meet your baby in China... some like to call it "Forever Family Day"). Here's what I included in the care package:

- a small photo album with Madeleine's picture on the front, and several pictures of me, Sophie (kitty cat), and Madeleine's room
- a colorful teething/rattle toy with mirror
- a small security blanket I knitted (from the same yarn I used to knit her a larger blanket)
- a disposable camera with a note asking them to take some pictures
- some candy/almonds for the nannies

It's supposed to arrive in Yulin (city where she is) on October 22nd... I'm thinking good thoughts that it will get to her!

Hi May-
LiWei's box arrived at Yulin safely on Thursday, Oct. 18th! I asked Kate's nanny to keep an eye out for it and she emailed me and said they got it. She said she can tell LiWei is going to a very loving mama and this made her very happy! She said to tell you thank you!
